Job and College Fair 2/25



If you or someone you know are seeking employment and or higher education, the 1st Annual Job and College Fair at the Asian Counseling & Referral Service at 3639 Martin Luther King Jr. Way South is the place to be on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.Don't wait to find your dream job, get a head start on your career or meet with college representatives. This is your chance to find the right college and talk to potential employers, all in one place.Getting a "foot in the door" in a new career area can be overwhelming. Finding the right entry-level job or college program can take months of research. At the Job & College Fair, individuals will meet employers and college representatives from all over the King County area. This event is free and open to public community. The Job & College Fair is presented by Federated Pentecostal Churches International and the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

Youth Education, Career & Resource Fair 2/22

Greetings. If you or someone you know are age 14-21, or you are a parent of youth 14-21, I want to let you know about the Youth Education, Career, and Resource Fair, next Wednesday, February 22nd from 10am to 2pm at Rainier Community Center.


Looking for a job, info about 2-year or 4-year colleges, or a way to earn service learning hours at a local nonprofit? Want to meet local employers, college representatives and learn about jobs and other community resources? At the Youth Education, Career, and Resource Fair, you will have the opportunity to network with up to 70 employers, non-profit agencies, and 2-year and 4-year colleges. You can gain valuable information and skills by attending interactive workshops on a variety of educational and job-readiness topics such as resume writing, college access & post-secondary planning, and exploring career opportunities in skilled trades, video game design and the sciences. The fair is sponsored by City of Seattle Human Services Department in partnership with Parks & Recreation, Metrocenter YMCA, SeaMar, and Youthcare.

Poverty Action on the Capitol Day 2/20




Hi, I ‘m calling to encourage you to take action to end poverty this President’s Day! Come to Olympia with the Statewide Poverty Action Network on Monday February 20th for our “Poverty Action on the Capitol” Day.

Free buses leave Seattle from Solid Ground (at 1501 N 45th St. in Wallingford) at 7:30 am on Monday, Feb 20th and return at around 5:00 pm the same day. You must sign up for the bus in advance by calling Poverty Action at 1.866.789.7726—Ask for Senait.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Children are welcome. Come to learn about policies that affect low-income people, network with people from across the region and share your story with lawmakers.

Resource Fair Saturday 2/11


If you (or someone you know) are a senior, low-income and/or person with disabilities, I want to let you know about the 2nd Annual “Help me Enjoy My Life” Resource Fair this Saturday February 11th from noon to 4:30 at St Paul’s Church (15 Roy St). Here are the details:

15 Roy St, Seattle, WA, 98109 (Lower Queen Anne – Just northwest of the Seattle Center)

In addition to the support organizations that will be attending they will be providing information on job search resources, resume writing and interviewing. They will also have some light complementary refreshments and entertainment from local artists and entertainers.

This Resource Fair is a secular outreach event targeted to Seniors, Low-income individuals and families and People with disabilities, but all our welcome. This is also an opportunity to enjoy some refreshments & connect with neighbors & larger community.
