Job opportunities this week

This message is about upcoming hiring events, employment opportunities, and career trainings in the Seattle area.

YouthCare’s Barista Training andEducation Program is hiring young people who are in need of help with education and employment.  This program provides job training and placement, life skills, employment counseling, classroom, and on-the-job training for the food service industry. The program includes 8 weeks of paid hands-on work experience, and one full year of support follow-up.  To be eligible, candidates must be between 16-24 years old and homeless or in unstable housing. WorkSource will be holding a Warehouse, Distribution & Transportation Job Fair.  Participating employers include: Amazon, Amtrak, Auto Warehousing Company, Nestle, UPS, U.S. Foods, among many others.  This will be held on Wednesday, June 11th from 1-3:30pm at WorkSource Auburn. The address is 2707 "I" Street NE, Auburn, 98002.  Due to limited space, only pre-registered customers will be admitted into the event. Saladworks has a new franchise opening in downtown Seattle.  They are seeking people to assist with food prep, counter/customer service, and dishwashing.  The store is located at 1200 3rd Ave, Seattle. Apply here.  Include a resume and an explanation as to why you would make a good candidate.   

The Hampton will be holding a hiring event for its new location in Everett. Open positions include: Maintenance Person, Breakfast Attendant, Night Auditor, Front Desk Attendant, Houseman, and Housekeeping Supervisors.  Attendees should be prepared to interview at the event.  This event will be held on Friday, June 6th from 9am to 4pm at WorkSource Everett. The Seattle Public Library will be holding a class called “Online Job Search: Finding Jobs & Researching Employment Opportunities”. Learn what the Internet can and cannot do for you in a job search. Topics will include: submitting résumés online, completing web-based job applications, and résumé-based websites such as Monster.com. You'll leave this course with a comprehensive list of company websites with job listings in the Puget Sound region. This event will be held on Wednesday, June 11th from 2:30 to 4:30pm in the Boeing Technology room at the Central Library.  The address is 1000 4th Ave, Seattle, 98104.
