Free Job Training Program: Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Job Training Initiative

Do you enjoy working outdoors? Are you looking for job training? The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is offering a program to train local residents for environmental jobs in the area: The Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Job Training Initiative.

Participants will be trained in:

• Pre-employment Skills
• Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (40-hr HAZWOPER)
• CPR/First Aid
• OSHA 10-hr Safety

Training is free to participants! You must attend a mandatory information session to be considered for this program.

Program Requirements:

• 18 years or older
• Currently under- or unemployed
• High school diploma or GED
• Eligible for employment in the United States
• Can attend a three-week unpaid training program, 8-9 hrs/day
• Valid driver’s license
• Willing to work nights, weekends and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to pass a drug test and background check
• Basic computer skills

Information sessions will be held the week of May 20th, 2013. Pre-registration required. Entry into The Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund Job Training Initiative is on a competitive basis. Job placement is not guaranteed.
