Job Opportunities this week

This message is about a number of upcoming hiring events, job openings, and employment training opportunities.

Civilian Mariner is holding a hiring event for Seagoing careers with Military Sealift Command.  Military Sealift Command (MSC) transports equipment and supplies to U.S. Forces worldwide. MSC is seeking to fill several vacant Civilian Mariner (CIVMAR) positions in the upcoming months. MSC seagoing positions offer CIVMARs on-the-job training, career advancement opportunities, steady pay and Federal benefits. The Zine Project hires homeless youth ages 15 to 22 to work, learn, and write for eight weeks, Monday-Friday for 16 to 18 hours a week. Their efforts culminate in the creation of mini-magazines called Zines. An Employment Case Manager works with each youth to learn and foster essential skills for obtaining and maintaining employment. The Central Library located downtown will be hosting a workshop on Effective Interview Techniques. You will be able to get an in-depth analysis of the job interview process and learn how to successfully prepare for any job interview.
