Job opportunities this week

This message is about a number of job opportunities in the Greater Seattle area.

Free registration for Goodwill job training classes is going on now at their Seattle Training Center in a wide range of subjects, including Computers, GED Preparation, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Retail and Customer Service. Classes are held several days a week, mostly in the mornings. Registration is open March 3rd to 7th for the March 17th class session. You must register for classes before the session begins. WorkSource Auburn will be holding a hiring event for various entry level positions. Participating employers have entry-level jobs in the following areas: healthcare, general labor/warehouse, customer service retail, food service/hospitality, sales, and janitorial/housekeeping.  There will be at least 11 employers present.  Registration is required and can be completed at worksourceauburn.eventbrite.com.  This event will be help on Tuesday, March 11th, from 1 to 3:30pm at 2707 I Street NE, Auburn, 98002.  The phone number is (253) 833-0102.

Safeway is looking to fill the following positions: Grocery Clerk, Front End Service Food Clerk, and Starbucks Clerk. They have openings in a number of locations across King County.  Applicants are also encouraged to go to the store and introduce themselves to the store recruiter in order to speed up the hiring process. Bright Horizons is hiring for a Part-Time Temporary Cook, Spanish Teacher, Substitute Teacher, and a number of other teaching positions in the Seattle and Kent area.  All open positions can be viewed and applied for at brighthorizons.com/careers.

The Seattle Public Library will be holding a workshop series on cover letter writing geared toward teens and young adults.  This event is titled Get a Job! Career Series: Cover Letters 1.  At this workshop, you will learn how to structure and develop your cover letter.  The program will take place on March 10th, from 6:30 to 7:30pm.  It will be held in the Teen Room at the Ravenna Eckstein Community Center which is located at 6535 Ravenna Ave. N.E., Seattle 98115.  This program is free and requires registration.  Call (206) 684-7539 to reserve a spot in the class.  The second class in this series will be held on March 12th at the same time and at the same place.
