Free Health Fairs - Health Center Week 8/6-8/11

Greetings! If you or someone you know need free health care services, I want to let you know about free health fairs next week, which is National Health Center Week.  Next week, August 6^th through 11th is National Health Center Week which recognizes the service and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers in providing access to affordable, high quality, cost-effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people in the U.S. America's Health Centers now serve over 20 million people (including nearly 1 million people who are homeless) in 7,000 communities in all 50 states including Seattle.  Federally-funded health centers care for you, even if you have no health insurance. You pay what you can afford, based on your income.

Every day next week Sea Mar Community Health Centers is hosting free health fairs for National Health Center Week from 8am to 5pm at their Medical Clinic in South Seattle at 8720 14th Ave. South, Seattle, 98108. They will be offering different free health services and education each day:

·               Monday the 6^th there will be Childhood Obesity programs, Blood Pressure checks, Height, Weight, and  Body Mass Index checks, with Medical Doctor consultation all day, plus Health Education

·               Tuesday the 7th they will provide Mammograms, Health Education, Breast, Cervical and Colon Health programs

·               Wednesday the 8th they will have Managed Care programming, such as State Insurance information, plus Social Workers, substance use treatment and mental health services

·               Thursday the 9^th they are providing Lab services including Cholesterol & AccuChecks,  plus Health Education and Care Coordinator programming

·               Friday the 10th are services for kids getting ready to go back to school, including free school supplies and checking immunization cards

·               And Saturday the 11th they will provide well-Child Checks and Immunizations, and Dental services

Also, SeaMar in Burien is hosting a one day Free Health Fair on Tuesday August 7th from 10-3pm at their Burien Health Clinic at 144334 Ambaum Blvd. SW, Burien, 98166. This health fair will Include:

-FREE screening for Diabetes and Cholesterol, plus a health Educator will provide information of how to prevent these conditions in a healthy way

-Free massage from Collins Chiropractic: Dr Spencer will be available at the courtyard providing massages and health education about the benefits of massage

-Information about transportation and services for seniors in king county and its surroundings.-

Health Education Child Development Center Open Enrollment

-Fire Truck and Fire fighter from Burien Fire Department

-Learn about how to prevent Chronic Diseases and Behavioral Health Conditions DSHS application assistant information by Customer Service Representative

-Community Heath Plan of Washington giveaways and raffle prizes

-Free gifs, healthy snacks, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy, balloons, raffle and many other activities for children
