Sahale Snacks is a Seattle based snack manufacturer. They are looking for people to fill 20 full time openings on their production line for various shifts. Every year, United Way King County helps people complete their tax returns and maximize refunds. They are looking for Community Outreach Specialists to get the word out on this service. Outreach will occur from January to March and the position will be 10-15 hours per week at $15/hour. Training will occur in December and no prior outreach experience is required. Consolidated Aviation Services will be holding open interviews on Thursday, December 3rd from 10am to 2pm in the Airport Jobs office at SeaTac airport. They are looking for part time customer service agents. People in this position help passengers find their way to and from their gates, navigate through customs and immigration and reschedule passengers after flight delays or interruptions. The YWCA Career Pathways Program supports students pursuing a Medical Administrative Assistant certificate at South Seattle College or Seattle Vocational Institute. There will be a workshop at YWCA Career Center Greenbridge at 9720 8th Ave SW in Seattle to learn more about the training opportunities and how this program can open doors in a growing industry. The workshop will be on Thursday, November 19 from 10:30 to 11:30am. There will be a job fair geared toward veterans on Monday, November 9 at AMVETS. AMVETS is located at 5717 S Tyler St in Tacoma. Congresswoman Suzan DelBene is hosting a 1st Congressional District Career Fair at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology East Building on Thursday, November 12 from 11am to 1:30pm. The Transportation Security Administration is hiring for Security Officers at the SeaTac Airport. These positions offer federal benefits and ongoing training. Menzies Aviation is hiring for ramp agents. There will be an open interview at the Airport Jobs office on Tuesday, October 20th from 10am to 2pm. Holiday shopping season is coming up. Southcenter Mall is holding a job fair to fill seasonal and permanent positions.  More than 40 employers located at Southcenter Mall will be present to fill these positions. United Career Fairs is holding an event on Tuesday, October 13 at the Sheraton Hotel in Bellevue. At this fair, each company will give a short presentation on what positions are available and job seekers will get to meet hiring managers for the jobs that they are interested in. The event starts promptly at 6pm and will be targeted at sales and marketing positions. Business attire is required and pre-registration is recommended. 

UPS is holding a job fair on October 14 from 10am to 1pm. It will take place at Neighborhood House, 9800 8th Ave SW in Seattle. Many positions are available and UPS offers a wide variety of benefits.

Overcoming Barriers to Employment Summit 9/5

If you or someone you know are living with disabilities and are looking for work, we want to let you know about the 4th Annual Overcoming Barriers to Employment Summit For Job Seekers with Disabilities, Friday, September 5th from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm at Shoreline Community College.

The conference goal is to assist job seekers with disabilities as they navigate their road to employment. Attendees will have an opportunity to attend workshops led by experts in the field and connect with valuable community resources. Lunch provided.

Eastside Vitality Health Fair 2014 is coming up on Saturdays in September. Overlake Medical Center will have free health screenings at its medical clinics from 8am to 11am on the following days:

Saturday, Sept. 06 – Overlake Medical Clinic Kirkland
Saturday, Sept. 13 – Overlake Medical Clinic Issaquah
Saturday, Sept. 20 – Overlake Medical Clinic Redmond
Saturday, Sept. 27 – Overlake Medical Center Bellevue


Area residents are invited to come meet your neighborhood physicians and staff while receiving free: Cholesterol/Glucose screenings, Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Pressure checks, Cardiac and Diabetes Risk Assessments, Consultations with Overlake physicians.
